Variations of Groundwater Dynamics in Alluvial Aquifers with Reclaimed Water Restoring the Overlying River, Beijing, China

چکیده

Some of the rivers in northern China are dried, and reclaimed water (RW) is used to restore these degraded river ecosystems, during which RW could recharge aquifer by bank infiltration. From 2007 2018, 2.78 × 108 m3 has been replenished dried Chaobai River (Shunyi reach), Beijing, China, located on edge one depression cone groundwater caused over-pumping. The hydrodynamic variations flow path were identified eight-year hydrological, hydrochemical, stable isotopic data, together with multivariate statistical analysis. infiltration drastically impacts dynamics a spatiotemporal variation. 30-m depth levels at Perennial intake reach increased quickly around 3 m after 2007, indicated that they dominated Other controlled precipitation from 2011, showing significant seasonal variations. In 2012, more transferred river, impact expanded downstream. However, 50-m 80-m showed decreasing trend variations, due pumping. was mainly recharged RW, being evidenced enriched δ2H δ18O. depleted δ18O regional meteoric origin. heterogenous properties multi-layer alluvial offer preferential for transport aquifers. proportion aquifers decreases calculated chloride conservative mixing model. lateral hydraulic gradient (0.43%) contributes aquifer. usage changed type Ca·Mg-HCO3 Na·Ca·Mg-HCO3·Cl. preferentially vertical leakage.

Characteristics of change in water quality along reclaimed water intake area of the Chaobai River in Beijing, China.

To reveal the basic characteristics and controlling factors of water quality change in the project Wenyu to Chaobai reclaimed water diversion, the water quality in the study area was monitored for one year at seven monitoring sites. Inverse geochemical models of the statistical groups were developed using PHREEQC to elucidate the hydrochemistry characteristics of reclaimed water and the factors...

Case studies of groundwater – surface water interactions and scale relationships in small alluvial aquifers

An alluvial aquifer can be described as a groundwater system, generally unconfined, that is hosted in laterally discontinuous layers of gravel, sand, silt and clay, deposited by a river in a river channel, banks or flood plain. In semi-arid regions, streams that are associated with alluvial aquifers tend to vary from discharge water bodies in the dry season, to recharge water bodies during cert...

Hydrogeochemical indicators of groundwater flow systems in the Yangwu River alluvial fan, Xinzhou Basin, Shanxi, China.

Based on analysis of groundwater hydrochemical and isotopic indicators, this article aims to identify the groundwater flow systems in the Yangwu River alluvial fan, in the Xinzhou Basin, China. Groundwater delta(2)H and delta(18)O values indicate that the origin of groundwater is mainly from precipitation, with local evaporative influence. d-excess values lower than 10% in most groundwaters sug...
